In Noah's time there were giants in the earth. Angels came down and married the daughters of men. In Lot's days there were abominations in the land, men sleeping with men and many more atrocities. The satan / serpent / devil / old dragon found a way to spritually plant his seed into the woman through her disobedience to God.
How did Cain became evil in the first place? Adam and Eve had two sons, Cain and Abel. When God said he would put enmity between the woman's seed and the serpent's seed, he did this because of man's disobedience. Two different seeds in the earth.
God will not destroy the earth with the righteous in it.

Genesis 6:1-4
And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
